Native Gold in Quartz - McLaughlin Mine, California 10.05 grams

$100.00

At 10.05 grams, this is a substantial showing of arborescent native gold — branching veins of bright elemental gold woven through white quartz with real visual punch.

The material comes from the McLaughlin Mine in California, mined in the 1980s and held back by the mine's geologist among his personal study samples. The gold occurs naturally in a hydrothermal vein, its tree-like growth set against dark mudstone in a flow-breccia melange that lapidary artists prize. Under longwave UV, some of this gold-bearing quartz fluoresces a bright yellow to green.

Mineral: Native (elemental) gold in quartz with mudstone
Locality: McLaughlin Mine, California, USA
Color: Bright gold in white quartz with black mudstone
Formation: Arborescent/dendritic gold in a hydrothermal vein deposit

One of a kind — the 10.05-gram cabochon pictured is exactly what you'll receive.
